Composite fan blade
One of the ways to increase the fuel efficiency of aircraft engines is to reduce weight through the use of lightweight, high-strength composite materials in the structure. The technology for creating polymer composite blades is critical, one of the most promising areas of research and meets the extremely high requirements for quality and efficiency. As part of the project to create a high-power aircraft engine PD-35, UEC is working on the production of a fan blade from polymer composite materials, including the development of two technological areas: prepreg technology and 3D weaving technology using exclusively domestic materials. The introduction of technology will reduce the mass of the high-thrust engine to 500 kg.
